Part 1/6 – Who Was this Man?
PART1-6. WHO WAS THIS MAN?
* The Genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matt 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38)
* The Word Became Flesh (John 1:1-18)
The video explores the journey of Jesus and his family to Egypt and then to Nazareth, following the narrative in Matthew chapter 2. It highlights how Joseph, warned by an angel in a dream, initially flees to Egypt to escape King Herod’s deadly plan. Afterward, once informed by the angel, the family returns to Israel but bypasses Judea, where Herod’s son Archelaus is ruling.
The video explores the journey of the Wise Men who travel from the East to Bethlehem to visit the child Jesus, as described in Matthew chapter 2. Guided by a star, they seek the newborn King of the Jews in Israel and are directed to Bethlehem. There, they find Jesus, worship Him, and present gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
This video illustrates the childhood of Jesus in relation to the Temple in Jerusalem, as detailed in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 2. It depicts the presentation of Jesus as an infant in the temple, an encounter with Simeon the prophet and Anna the prophetess who were waiting for the Messiah, and then years later the 12 year old Jesus returning to the temple.
Two videos that compare two narratives of Jesus’ birth. In the Gospel of Matthew, Joseph is reassured by God through a dream to marry Mary and name their son Jesus, who will save people from their sins. The Gospel of Luke narrates the decree of Caesar Augustus for a census, prompting Joseph and pregnant Mary’s journey to Bethlehem, where Jesus is born. Angels announce his birth to nearby shepherds, who visit and rejoice. Both accounts emphasize divine intervention and fulfillment of prophecies, highlighting the significance of Jesus’ birth as the Saviour.
Skip Heitzig explores the biblical accounts of Jesus Christ’s birth, highlighting its global importance. He focuses on Matthew’s narrative, which describes the miraculous events and prophecies that Jesus’ birth fulfilled. Skip stresses the importance of worshipping and obeying Jesus, emphasizing his humble beginnings as the King of the Jews.
